Batwoman

*Update 09/09/2024*

I continued the illustration of Batwoman. I wanted to place her in a scene like riding down a city street in Gotham, but I couldn't get it to look right. I decided to overpaint the original and apply some fixes to her head, which looked like it was dislocated. The new version is a little closer to real life, as if Batwoman doesn't have the tech that Batman has; she only has a motorcycle, a masquerade mask, and a black motorcycle suit. She is jumping on her bike wheel spinning to get it to take off down the alley way.

The new illustration took about 30 additional hours to draw and fix. I added rain and weather effects to hide the mistakes. I also created the Batwoman logo but made it look weathered and grungy.

The Photoshop file is huge - over 2GB, and I went back to layering everything to reduce or remove things like street lights, face cowl/mask, rain and splash effects.

The original digital painting of a Bat Woman on a motorcycle was sketched out, and outlines, shadows, and highlights were added. These were blended, and then more details and colour were added. The painting took around 30 hours, and it mainly involved procrastinating and testing different colours and lighting. I am much happier with how it evolved.
