Death Adder

Death adder from Golden Axe. The drawing was created entirely in Photoshop in black and white using my favourite brush to block in and detail.

The drawing references a few pieces from other artists as a head nod, such as the Golden Axe which I took inspiration from a piece by Vandrel who sadly passed away a couple of years ago. I used his axe from one of his illustrations as a homage.

It took a total of 40 hours so far. I coloured it as best as I could using reference material and toned appropriately for its final composite. It requires a few more details and mistakes to be corrected. I tried to keep as close to the original character as possible using some reference for armour and the helmet.
