Gilius and his Chicken Leg

Digital painting of Gilius Thunderhead on his Chicken Walker, This is another illustration for my Golden Axe montage.

The illustration was drawn in photoshop and has taken approx 30 hours to complete. It was started in black and white and coloured after which is my preferred method.

I use a marker pen brush which is my favourite for blocking areas and amending details, I add textures the areas that warrant it using specific brushes, I add colour then tone effects and light, reflection and saturation.

I will upload some of the stages used and a time-lapse video of the initial sketch phase.
