Ax Battler - Golden Axe

Another piece of artwork for my Golden Axe project. Ax was created using the original sprite for his resting position holding the sword. I used a number of reference poses and artwork to convey the character.

I drew it out in Photoshop in black and white slowly building up details and then adding colour. For this one, I drew it small and detailed scaling up several times to paint out mistakes. I added detail and texture to help further hide mistakes then added colour. This piece took around 20 hours over a weekend in total.
